EAST KENT CHAMPIONSHIP VENUE

Whilst Scotland is regarded as the home of golf the East of Kent joins Lancashire as the only other area in England which has staged the Open Championship. It has done so on some fifteen occasions at it's three championship courses, all of which are contained in a narrow 7 mile strip of wonderful links land running along what is often referred to as The Royal Golf Coast:

  • Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club
  • Royal St. George's Golf Club
  • Princes' Golf Club
  • Littlestone Golf Club

Not only are there great advantages to be had from this concentration in so small an area but the south east of England also enjoys magnificent views of the English Channel across to France. Additionally, East Kent's proximity to the London Airports - the major hub of travel into Europe - represents a considerable bonus for overseas visitors.

London, with all its attractions, is only 75 miles away and Paris can be reached on an easy day trip by road or rail, either by cross-channel ferry or via the Channel Tunnel.

The history of the South Eastern County of Kent is as fascinating as the scenery is beautiful. Within this section of our site we have provided a short historical tour which will illustrate the degree of opportunity open to any visitor - aside from a unique golfing experience.
