ON THE COURSE

Handicap Requirements

The maximum handicap limit is 28 for gentlemen and 54 for ladies. Handicap certificates should be presented to the Professional’s Shop on arrival. The Club reserves the right to refuse access to the course to anyone who does not have a valid handicap certificate without refund.

Prior To Play

  • All players must check in at the Golf Office or Professional’s Shop at least 15 minutes before their start time to confirm the number of their group and the format that they are playing.
  • The Club cannot guarantee a tee time for any golfers exceeding the number of players already booked.
  • Visitors are requested to change in the clubhouse changing rooms and not in the car park.

Dress Code – On The Course

  • Golfers must wear a collared, polo, or roll neck shirt, which should be tucked in at all times,
    except when specifically designed to be worn on the outside.
  • Ladies are permitted to wear a sleeveless top, provided it has a collar.
  • Trousers and shorts must be tailored. The wearing of skorts for ladies is preferable attire,
    although longer skirts can also be worn (but not miniskirts). Denim material is not permitted.
  • For gentlemen, shorts must be accompanied by the wearing of knee length socks.
  • Golf shoes must be worn.

Tee Sets

Play will be from the Club tees unless prior permission has been sought to play from alternative tees. This is to help ensure good pace of play for the enjoyment of all golfers.

Slow Play

  • Please avoid slow play.
  • The normal courtesies of golf should be observed and the rules of etiquette should be followed at all times.
  • For visitors guidance a round of golf should take a maximum of 3 1/2 hours for two-balls, and 4 hours for four-balls.
  • If your group is holding up play, please stand aside and let the group behind play through.
  • Persistently slow players may be asked to leave the course. No refund will be given.

Caddies, Buggies, Trolleys & Hire Clubs

Caddies, buggies, trolleys and hire clubs can be booked and paid for through the Professional’s Shop. Please call 01304 374170 or email at professional@royalcinqueports.com

Mobile Phones

  • Mobile phones may be taken onto the course and used in case of emergency only.
  • Mobile phones may only be used in the Clubhouse for silent browsing, and not phone calls.
  • Phones must remain on silent at all times.

Halfway Hut

Royal Cinque Ports has a Halfway Hut adjacent to the 9th green. Hot and cold refreshments can be purchased here. Toilet facilities are also provided.

Care For The Course

We would ask that all golfers:

  • Repair their pitch marks.
  • Replace their divots.
  • Rake bunkers after use (except waste areas).

IN THE CLUBHOUSE

Opening Hours

The bar is open for service at 8.00am and closes at 8.00pm in the Summer, or 6.00pm in the Winter. We are happy to extend these hours but only by prior arrangement.

Dress Code In The Clubhouse

  • Golf shoes and waterproofs are not permitted upstairs in the Clubhouse or the Dining Room.
  • Golfers must change from wet or soiled clothing.
  • The wearing of headwear is not permitted in the Clubhouse, except for religious headwear.


Casual Lounge

  • Gentlemen must wear a collared, polo, or roll neck shirt, which should be tucked in at all
    times, except when specifically designed to be worn on the outside.
  • Ladies are permitted to wear sleeveless and/or collarless tops in the style of smart daywear.
  • Trousers and shorts must be tailored. Denim material is not permitted.
  • For gentlemen, shorts must be accompanied by the wearing of knee length socks.
  • Gentlemen should wear smart shoes. Ladies should wear smart shoes or sandals. Trainers
    are not permitted.


Jack Aisher Room

  • Golf attire is only permitted in the Jack Aisher Room before 11.00am.
  • After 11.00am, gentlemen are required to wear a collared dress shirt or roll neck shirt with
    tailored trousers and smart shoes.
  • It is a tradition of the Club that gentlemen also wear a jacket and tie/cravat in the Jack
    Aisher Room.
  • Ladies should dress in smart daywear.


Dining Room

  • Gentlemen are required to wear a blazer with a tie or roll neck.
  • Ladies should dress in smart daywear

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted within the Clubhouse, Halfway Hut, or any other confined space.

BOOKING INFORMATION

Payments

Full payment must be made upon reservation.

Refunds & Cancellations

  • If a cancellation is made more than 28 days before the date of play, then  payment will be refunded.
  • If a cancellation is made less than 28 days before the date of play, 50% of the full payment will be retained by the Club.
  • If a cancellation is made less than 14 days before the date of play, 100% of the full payment will be retained by the Club.
  • We regret that we cannot offer refunds due to delayed/cancelled flights or travel plans, personal injury or illness.  We recommend that you have travel insurance to cover this eventuality.

Liability & Responsibility

  • The Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club does not accept liability for damage, loss or injury suffered by persons on the course or in the Clubhouse or environs.
  • Motor vehicles are driven or parked at the owner’s risk whilst on golf club property where the Club accepts no responsibility for damage.
